Self care is so incredibly important for maintaining our mental, emotional and physical health. Yet even though we know this, rarely do we properly take care of ourselves. Maybe it’s because we feel guilty and selfish when we put ourselves first or maybe it’s because we’re too busy taking care of others. Whatever the reason, this 28 day self care challenge is designed to help you focus on yourself for a little time each day so you’re motivated to be the best you can be.
Self Care Challenge
Week 1
Day 1: Read a chapter from an inspiring book or a blog post. We recommend 30 inspirational quotes about life.
Day 2: De-clutter one room in your home. For more de-cluttering tips, read Clutter Free: Quick and Easy Steps to Simplifying Your Space.
Day 3: Create a feel-good music playlist with your favorite songs to cheer you up when you’re feeling down.
Day 4: Call a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while and arrange to meet up.
Day 5: Make a doctor’s appointment for a general health check-up.
Day 6: Unfollow or block anyone on social media who’s negative or makes you feel bad about yourself.
Day 7: Make a list of 10 things that make you happy.
Week 2
Day 8: Go to bed earlier and get at least 7 hours sleep. If you’re usually a night owl, here are 5 tips to help you wake up early.
Day 9: Take as long as you want and really enjoy a hot bath or shower.

Day 11: Give a stranger a genuine compliment.
Day 12: Surprise your parents and visit them just to chat.
Day 13: Take 10 items you no longer need from your home and donate them to charity.
Day 14: Spend some extra time in the morning getting ready and looking your best.
Week 3
Day 15: Write a list of goals you want to accomplish by the end of the year. If you need guidance on how you can achieve them, read goal setting: how to set and accomplish your goals.
Day 16: Try a new healthy recipe. The Healthy Meal Prep Cookbook is full of incredible ideas.
Day 17: Go for a walk by yourself and notice the beautiful world around you.
Day 18: Lay out your clothes for the next day to make your morning easier.
Day 19: Organize your computer and delete any old files, photos, bookmarks and emails.
Day 20: Try a new exercise or workout routine.
Day 21: Wear something that makes you feel great
Week 4
Day 22: Turn your phone to silent and watch your favorite TV show or movie without any interruptions.

Day 24: Make a solid plan to do something you’ve always wanted to do.

Day 26: Allow yourself to do nothing all day and not feel guilty about it.
Day 27: Take a nap and let yourself sleep for as long as you need to.
Day 28: Write down 4 things you learned about yourself since you began the self care challenge.
